Alfonso is a Senior Associate at the firm and our second Accredited Specialist in family law.
Alfonso joined the team at Sarah Bevan Family Lawyers in 2013 from another specialist family law firm, where he gained considerable experience in both advocacy and dispute resolution. He takes great pride in facing the diverse and challenging aspects of family law. He has never shied away from a challenge and has been the primary lawyer on many difficult and highly unique cases, including the first Australian decision under the Hague Convention on Child Protection.
Along with Sarah and Aboorva, Alfie is an integral part of our surrogacy practice. He takes great pleasure in being able to assist people with the often long and tricky path of becoming parents through surrogacy.
“Practising family law is such incredibly fulfilling work as I am able to
help and guide people through the maze of issues following a family
breakdown. There are both legal and non legal issues to consider and I
always aim to ensure that I fully advise and inform my clients about
their varied options”.
Alfonso’s key strengths as a family lawyer lie in his passion for assisting people, and his respectful approach to all clients. He combines this with his forthrightly honest approach, which is appreciated by his clients.
Alfonso is a remarkably strong advocate for his clients and has a wide range of experience in all the family law courts, as well as in mediations and other forms of dispute resolution. Alfonso has considerable experience in surrogacy law, both domestic and international surrogacy arrangements. He practises across the whole range of family law, including international cases and cases involving complex structures.
Offices
Alfonso works primarily from the Surry Hills and Parramatta offices but is also available at the Crows Nest office.
Background
Alfonso’s Business degree provides him with an extra layer of skill in dealing with property cases which involve businesses and trusts.
Prior to commencing work as a lawyer, Alfonso gained a variety of skills throughout his range of employment, travel and general life experiences.
Outside of work, Alfonso enjoys managing an active social life. He is interested in enriching his knowledge of different cultures by travelling to new and exotic locations. He enjoys entertaining his family and friends with his culinary skills, and we at the firm are often lucky enough to be treated with his cooking.
